JOB SPECIFICATION
A+E is looking to bring in an experienced sales coordinator, International Content Sales, EMEA to support the head of content sales EMEA. The core responsibility is to maximize revenues from the distribution of a 14,000-hour factual library, growing by 1,200 new hours each year and from the distribution of a TV movie and drama series catalogue. The library and new commissions include the lion’s share of the content from 3 of the top 10 pay-tv channels in the US market. It includes more than95% of the company’s entire commissioning of unscripted content, more than half its commissioned Lifetime Movies, and is growing to include substantial dramas and mini-series. It also includes distribution of many of its local international productions. This role will plan, direct and execute program sales activities for the A+E International division with a focus on specific territories.
ROLE AND RESPONSABILITIES
To provide daily administrative and sales support to VP Head of Content Sales within the EMEA content sales department of A+E Networks International division, based in central London.
Responsibility for VP’s day to day administrative support including diary management, for business trips and trade shows, processing travel and entertainment expenses and research and booking of sales-related entertainment. Anticipation of needs is key.
- Create marketing presentations for internal management or external sales purposes. Must have a firm grasp of Powerpoint. An eye for aesthetics is key.
- Manage client marketing mail shots, blast e-mails and contacts database for marketing shows and disseminating company announcements.
- Coordinate the EMEA content sales team (10 people) under the VP supervision.
- Coordinate with other corporate departments (digital marketing and sales, general marketing, fulfillment of programming broadcast materials, finance) and channels (wholly-owned and joint ventures.)
- Develop strong relationships with key executives and administrators internally as well as others related to the company’s interests and operations on an international basis, including Channels, Programming, Consumer Products, Marketing, etc.
- Inform customers of upcoming A&E Corporate events, product programs and services.
- Utilise research effectively and provide creative and marketing input, as required, in order to establish the best possible sales strategies.
- Work on regular SWAT teams for development of digital sales site, GPS avails system and feedback accordingly to EMEA Team
- Strategic studies on territories, report, identifying strategic sales opportunities and catalogue acquisition.
Assisting VP in achieving the annual sales budget in France and Spain, and EMEA
- Responsibility for managing the organization of team meetings, scheduled team events and overall sales team coordination. Be the EMEA point person for the Sales Team internationally when scheduling meetings with NY and beyond.
- Work closely with the sales availability coordinator to provide accurate programme availability reports from the Rights Management System so we understand what we have available to sell.
- Carry out rights checks, cross checking and researching sales histories and tracking sales interest against internal affiliate/A+E channel deals.
- Manage client access to the A+E Online Sales site.
- Support executives with client follow-ups. Providing clients with synopsis, broadcast and avail dates and screeners in order for them to make buying decisions.
- Draft deal memos under the supervision of the sales executives and the local and NY legal department.
- Day-to-day management of output/volume. Deals across France & Spain– titles, price allocated, entered into internal accounting documents and material sent.
- Travel to local and overseas sales markets and sales trips if requested.
- Provide support on special content sales projects of any kind.
- Screening, script reading and evaluation of new programming on an ongoing basis.
- Shadow VP with the negotiation and closing of deals with Television broadcasters.
- Follow up with clients on requests and co-ordinate solutions to contract/distribution issues where required.
- Create and maintain a strong working relationship with clients and other related parties.
Responsibility for direct sales to clients:
- Managing own 1-4 territories from 1 to 10 million inhabitiants for example French-speaking Belgium and Switzerland.
- Work independently to close smaller deals in Spain and France, developing new packages and creating proposals for clients, upselling content and working with buyers to build long lasting schedule blocks for specific content.
- Drafting and strategic input of multi-territory SVOD service for Scripted Volume deals, to maximise opportunities of sales across a number of digital and linear rights internationally.
SKILLS REQUIRED
- Bachelor degree with demonstrable TV administrative experience, general sales or entrepreneurial experience or business development/analytical experience.
- Passion for television and an ambition to work within a rapidly changing, international sales environment
- Excellent command of Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point and Photoshop. Essential. Strong IT skills with Windows and iOS, mainly APPLE-based.
- Upbeat personality, strategic, enterprising, entrepreneurial, detail oriented, first class organizational skills, can-do attitude and ability to keep a cool head under pressure.
- Capacity to adapt and work with different styles of management.
